Need to surrender your pet?

Maybe you don't have time, have lost your job, had a family emergency, are moving, have kids that lost interest, or even just got in over your head with a pet that got too big or too difficult to handle or care for.  Maybe your pet has had some sort of illness or injury that you don't have the knowledge or funds to care for properly.  Whatever the reason, sometimes it is best for you and for the sake of your reptile to surrender your pet to a rescue to find it a new home.  We are here to help.

We are non-judgmental about owner-surrenders and feel that surrendering a reptile into our rescue is sometimes the most responsible course of action.

We take in displaced reptiles on a case-by-case basis, as space allows.  If we do not have room for your reptile right away, we will put you on a waiting list and try to place your pet into a new home as soon as possible.

When accepting owner-surrendered animals, we require that you also donate the animal's enclosure, heat and lighting equipment, and accessories.  Even supplies that we cannot use can be sold to help fund the care of your pet.  Having the enclosure and equipment makes it much easier for us to house your pet until we can find it a permanent home.  If your pet is sick or injured, we respectfully ask that you also include a monetary donation to help pay for your pet's medical care.

Note to animal shelters, humane societies, and law enforcement:
We are also willing to work with you to take in rescued reptiles that have come to you because of abandonment, neglect, cruelty cases, or confiscations.  We do not require donations of enclosures or supplies but appreciate any help you can offer us.  We will also take in reptiles that have been surrendered by their owners to other rescues and shelters, however we prefer that you refer our rescue to the owners directly, so we can get full background information on the intake.

Note to pet stores:
We are willing to work with pet stores and take in animals that arrived in poor condition or are not thriving in a store environment.  Again, we do ask that you refer owner-surrenders to us directly so that we can get full background information on the intake.  We would like to establish working relationships with pet stores to help foster proper reptile education and responsible care.  We are available for consulting and to answer questions as well.

Please note, we do not accept venomous or illegal species.
